Rainbow Youth Drama is for young people who want to develop their creative skills, in a warm and friendly setting.
We run youth drama classes in Halifax, West Yorkshire and after school drama clubs in the surrounding area.
Our aim is to give young people the opportunity to learn a range of theatrical skills, alongside their peers, including improvisation, stage management, team work and confidence building.
Rainbow Youth Drama runs weekly classes for young people aged 9-13 and 14-18. Once a year, each class has the opportunity to put on a live performance using the skills they have learned from class.
The scripts used for performances are drawn from the work done in class and put together by the groups founder and director, Abigail Rutherford. However, sometimes we use material from published playwrights as well.
We like to challenge our young actors, and cover theatre styles from Restoration Comedy to Farce and playwrights from Shakespeare to Ayckbourn.
To get involved in RYD, simply check out the times of the classes and contact Abigail, who will welcome you to your first session.
